LSHS 2010 Danceline Coaches
Kayla Winter (Fall Head Coach)
This is her first year coaching the Cougar Dance Team. Kayla is a graduate of Park High School. Kayla has been dancing for 20 years where she has accepted many awards and dance scholarships. She has also been teaching for over 6 years. She has an extensive background in jazz, modern, hip hop, ballet, musical theatre, and clogging. Kayla has a BachelorÕs degree from Gustavus Adolphus College where she majored in Dance and Communication Studies. She was a member, choreographer, and captain of the Gustavus Dance Team. She was also a member of the Gustavus Dance Company where she was able to choreograph, dance, and student direct various dance concerts. Kayla now teaches at two local dance studios and she is a member of the Minnesota Vikings CheerleaderÕs Training Program.
Carly Mithun (Fall Assistant
Coach)
Carly has been dancing since she
was three years old, taking classes at several studios including Pat Peare
School of Dance, Moniques, MauriÕs, Spotlight, and Larkin. Her freshman year
she was on the Varsity jazz and kick Apple Valley AVaires dance team. For the rest of high school she danced
varsity jazz and kick at Eastview High School and was on the choreography
committee. She was an assistant at
the
Just For Kix dance camps last summer and this summer she joined the Just For
Kix staff. Carly has done
choreography and assisted the Timberwolves performance dance team (NBA). This past year she was a student
teacher at Larkin dance studio.
Her plans for the next year include going to the Broadway Dance Center
in New York city to start her professional dance career.
Kelly
Colbert has been coaching the Lakeville South Dance team for 2 years. She is a
2004 graduate of Eagan High School where she danced Varsity Jazz and Kick for
four years. She also took 15 years of dance class at Pat Peare School of Dance
where she won national awards in tap, jazz, and musical show. Kelly graduated
from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2008 with her degree in Applied
Economics and Marketing. She is currently working at Thomson Reuters in Eagan.
Kathryn
Keys (Winter Varsity Assistant coach)
Kathryn is a graduate of University of Minnesota- Duluth and
currently works at the Courage Center. During her high school days she danced
for Mounds View dance team.
Jody
Wandersee (Winter JV Head Coach)
This familiar face is coming back to the dance team for yet
another season heading up the JV dance team. She brings a lot of knowledge being
that she has been with the team for a few years!
Nicole Gray (Winter JV Assistant
Coach)
This will be Nicole's first year coaching the
cougar dance team. She is a 2009 graduate of Lakeville South High School and is
currently attending her 2nd year at Normandale Community College. Nicole is a
former member of the CDT and was chosen All Lake Conference her senior year.
She formerly danced at Dance Works until she began dancing with the CDT in 2005.
Nicole was a member of the team for 4 years and helped choreograph several of
the routines, including the Jazz dance that made it to state in 2009. After
completing her last year at Normandale, she plans on pursuing a dance minor at
Mankato or Duluth.
